Mission Bell Academy, is a non-public special education school. Mission Bell Academy, offers a full array of educational services to students who are eligible for special education services. These students may be diagnosed with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disturbance, and/or severely handicapped. We provide educational services to students  ages 3-22 years. Through working collaboratively with parents, school districts, and local agencies such as advocacy, probation and psychological services, we provide each student with an individualized academic and functional skills program. Mission Bell Academy offers a modified, traditional school calendar including extended school year.

Individualized educational programs are designed for each student. Data driven, research-based teaching strategies are implemented in all classrooms to provide students with a positive learning environment in which they are able to acquire skills as quickly and efficiently as possible. A few of the teaching techniques implemented are Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Direct Instruction, Discrete Trial Teaching, Natural Language Paradigm, and Pivotal Response Training.

For those students with autism in elementary, middle school or high school classrooms, the curriculum provides learning along an academic or functional skills classroom track. Both types of classrooms include  varying degrees of academics, language development, functional skills, socialization/play, and transitions. Students diagnosed with severe handicaps are provided with multiple learning opportunities in independent skills, communication, and play/socialization.

Mission Bell Academy has implemented the Girls and Boys Town Education Model. This therapeutic intervention is particularly applicable to classrooms serving those students diagnosed with emotional disturbance. Finding hope for children is something we do everyday.
